According to a report by industry analyst Ross Young, Apple will introduce a new 13 inch MacBook Air, an 11 inch iPad Pro, and a 12.9 inch iPad Pro model with OLED displays in 2024.

That’s right, you’re fine if you just got any of them right now or probably for the next year. So far, there are no more specific details, but Young also shared that all three devices will have two stacked OLED displays with two green, red and blue emission layers for increased brightness and lower power consumption.

He also reported that all three models would feature support for promotion up to 120 Hz refresh rate. And yes, I know iPad Pro already have promotion, but this would be the first time that we see it on the MacBook Air and we know how long it took iPhones.

Also, let’s not forget that currently there are no Macs or iPads with OLED displays. Apple’s latest models are equipped with LCD, obviously different technology like many LED and some. Meaning that this change would get us a better contrast ratio and theoretically better battery life.

Even if I debate that, since OLED displays have self emitting pixels that do not require backlighting, even if they’re not necessarily that efficient. Ross Young has a very substantial track record when it comes to Apple products so Let’s see if it ends up happening.
