OnePlus 11 – Price leak

OnePlus has proceeded with the same launch approach it used for its last high-end handset in the first half of 2022, namely, releasing the device in China first before spreading it to the rest of the globe.

That leaves no mystery about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered OnePlus 11 before its global rollout on February 7… except for maybe the most crucial component of the jigsaw.

What we’re discussing here is retail price.  And now it seems very promising.

Pricebaba says it has the exact pricing model of the OnePlus 1 for India from a “reputed source,” and it doesn’t appear too horrible, at least not to Indian eyes:

The base model 12GB + 256GB costs Rs. 54,999; the same device with 16GB + 256GB costs Rs. 59,999; and the highest-end 16GB + 512GB  version costs Rs. 66,999.

It should be evident that just translating the above figures from Indian rupees to US dollars is pointless if you have any familiarity with foreign currency rates, taxes, or the way smartphone pricing generally translate from place to region. But we can compare them with last years models.

It’s crucial to note that the base models of the OnePlus 10T and 10 Pro from last year cost 49,999 and 66,999 Indian rupees, respectively.

Based on the average pricing of similar smartphones in the US, we anticipate the following prices for the various OnePlus 11 variants:

16GB + 512GB costs $900;

12GB + 256GB costs $700;

But before you get too enthusiastic, it’s important to remember that these are still only estimates on our side, and they may or may not turn out to be true.

However, this fresh rumor significantly reduces the likelihood that the OnePlus 11 would begin at $850 or $900 in the US, and it’s possible that the phone will undercut all Galaxy S23 series products by a significant amount.

Although nothing is set in stone about the aforementioned S23’s cost.

Regardless of whether or not this turns out to be the case, the OnePlus 11 should be able to comfortably outperform its competition in terms of (theoretical) value for money, since the “vanilla” Galaxy S23 is expected to cost at least $900 for its most cheap configuration.

The base model of the Galaxy S23 will only have 128 GB of storage space and 8 GB of RAM, making it significantly smaller and lower-res than the base model of the OnePlus 11.

Obviously, price isn’t everything, but even if it (regionally) drops from 100 to 80W charging speeds, the OnePlus 11 is expected to be the finest phone on the market in the United States in early 2023.

In the absence of a Galaxy S22 FE variant, Samsung may not have a direct competitor to the OnePlus 11 in the foreseeable future, and the Galaxy S23 Plus and S23 Ultra are obviously assured to cost much more than their smaller brother.
