The Samsung E6 OLED on the Xiaomi phone breaks Android brightness record

Recently, Samsung unveiled its most advanced OLED panel, the E6 Super AMOLED. This panel has a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits and is designed for use in high-end devices. Both the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max utilize this panel in their displays. Many manufacturers of Android smartphones have begun adopting the same panel, and the newest phone from Xiaomi appears to have set a new benchmark for brightness.

Xiaomi 13 Pro: Price, specs and best deals

Image shared by Xiaomi on Weibo claims that the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s max screen brightness is 1,900 nits and its normal screen brightness is 1,200 nits. Xiaomi claims that the battery life has increased by 22% year over year, even with the maximum brightness levels. But that could also be because of the improved efficiency of the processor.

Although the E6 AMOLED display is manufactured by Samsung Display, there are allegations that Samsung MX has not used it in the Galaxy S23 series. Maximum brightness for the OLED displays of all three Galaxy S23 models is said to be 1,750 nits. That would represent the first time a Samsung phone isn’t the best-performing smartphone available.
